The power of networks never fail to amaze me. I sent out requests for a home for the kitten in the previous post to all of my networks and in less than 24 hrs it is off to its new home with a great American/Scottish couple. I am sad to see the little one go as I enjoyed playing with it, but am so happy that I have helped get another Mumbai stray off the streets and into a loving home.
Hopefully we'll get some photo updates of the little one in its new home. For now they have named him/her tiffin.
Hoorah to another success story!

Kitten needs home!
Somehow I have a way of finding tiny kittens who need homes - and especially ginger kittens! But rest assured, I only take them off the streets if there is no hope for them to survive outside on their own. I have enough trouble finding homes for the desperate situations so I can't take them all even though I see a new one almost daily!
A few days ago I found a small little ginger kitten opposite olive, screaming for its mommy. The last two days it has been in the same spot behind a phone box just laying in a plastic bag. It was living on a busy street and was beginning to venture out to find food - which means it would have been run over within minutes if I left it out there.
So... it is now living in my bathroom waiting for a home! It is about 6 weeks old - maybe younger. A total sweetie. Ginger colored with blue eyes.
If you work all day it will be fine as she/he seems to sleep most of the day anyhow. I can help you get the little on setttled into your home if you don't know much about taking in strays. The vets are excellent and cheap here, cat food and liter is readily available as well.
Having a cat in Mumbai is a great addition to your home - they make you feel like you really live here! And if you are from mainland Europe, US or Canada, it is very easy to get your pet back home with you when you leave.
Please email if you are interested or know of anyone who might be. Otherwise please forward to anyone who you think might be interested. I am leaving town for a month and need to find a home for this little one before I go, otherwise I will have to put it back on the streets :(
Thanks!

monsoon
Look at this sweet little thing... the boy or the kitten I'm not sure! But either way it's too cute. This little kitten is named monsoon aka kitkat. She wandered into a shelter that I volunteer with and has been coming in/out for the last while. She was living exclusively in their storage room, but since she is getting older they thought they should put her out into the building. When I first saw her a few weeks ago she was very nervous with people holding her, but of course I scooped her right up and now the kids aren't afraid of her. Needless to say.. she is now VERY used to being held and just cuddles away. But she does need a good home... She's an absolute doll, but I doubt that she will survive long living in this enviornment. If you want a sweet little monsoon treasure, this is your gal.
